Hello. Prof Shubhada Kanani from India working for SHN. In resource poor schools with heavy workloads, what are successful strategies to sustain SHN strategies in the school system after project phase is over or external catalysts are no longer around?
Yes I’m here Nat!

Thanks for your question Shubhada, we will take your question to the end of Seung's presentation.
Great that you raised this point, Shuhada!

in Mozambique we had a donation of MOSK KIT package which was really good. How can we make it sustainable and keep the program going on?
We are working on healthy food choices and physcial activity to reduce both underweight and overweight in schools-any resources for this area available?
Here in Mali, we have been working on the last point mentioned in the challenges: Provision of glasses. We do vision screening and have started provided some children with them and the most complicated cases are referred to Health centers
one neglected issue is perhaps the girl child in school- how gender insensitivity and early marriages force them to drop out of school- does SC incorporate gender dimension in SHN.
In 1998, it was just Malawi, Mozambique and Mali
then came Haiti, Philippines....
Unfortunately I have to leave before the end. Congratulations on your achiemenents! But just in relation to the comments on behaviour change, the FAO White Paper on school food and nutrition education (forthcoming) believes that behaviour change is not so difficult to achieve in schools, especially if it is connected to actions and interactions in the environment, to families, and to interventions such as the range of STC programs you have showcased here. Many thanks!
Great presentation! I really liked the use of the word maintaining rather than implementing. In other words, can we start and do pilots where we have a clear idea of what it takes to maintain and sustain that program at the beginning rather than at the end of the funded pilot or external support.
In the country programs how do you deal with the mental health issues as food impacts mood and vice versa, especially among adolescents.
I agree - I thin that well being and resilience is an important topic and is foundational to children feeling able to participate and contribute.
Thank you soooo much for a great meeting!
Congratulations! thenk you
Thanks so much
